Dreamworld

Ever since i read Lynch on Lynch, i getting more and more captured by the logic of dreaming, and figuring out how to distil a visual style from it. Not only David Lynch, but also Michel Gondry, famous for his videos for Björk to name one, has ventured into this complex theme.

Last wednesday, i finally saw 'Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind', and have to admit it wasn't exactly what i had hoped it would be. A good movie sure, but rather vague in its conclusion, which means i'm incapable of it putting into words. It was very interesting though to see Michel Gondry translate the machinery of the mind and the logic of dreaming to the screen. Quite dissimilar to David Lynch's way of working. Both Gondry in this movie, and Lynch in most of his movies, have created a dreamworld that rings true, and have gone well beyond the border of smearing vaseline on their lenses.
Interesting topic, not? More on it later.
